We do impromptu speeches all the time!
When we meet someone in the hallway, at a party, or in an interview, we improvise on the spot.
Have you ever drawn a blank or felt uneasy speaking off the cuff?
Join us in our weekly Improvisation practice at 6 pm Monday (The same zoom link as our club meeting)!
This is an informal 1-hour group practice session outside of our official club meeting every Tuesday, and our focus is to practice table topics (impromptu speeches)!
The practice uses a group-of-3 method: Speaker #1 gives a question to speaker #2; speaker #2 improvises a speech (2.5 min); speaker #3 evaluates the speech from speaker #2 (1 min) followed by a 1-min group evaluation (1 min). Then it goes to the next group of 3 (speakers #2, #3, #4), so on and so forth. The number is randomly assigned before the practice. Each participant is invited to prepare 1 question relevant to the meeting theme.
The practice is fun with a relaxing atmosphere! Participants feel the practice helps with both improvisation and evaluation. The practice session also helps get to know other toastmasters as we always hear interesting stories.
Join us to level up your improvisation! The 1-hour per week practice to act small and act regularly will create a remarkable compound effect on your self-development later on!
